Are you interested in serving on the Board of Directors of the not-for-profit Parkdale Neighbourhood Land Trust (PNLT)? Or maybe you know someone who should?
PNLT’s Board of Directors is the decision-making body of PNLT and is democratically elected from and by our membership. PNLT is currently seeking nominations for new Board members.
Please fill out this form to submit a nomination for yourself or a candidate you would like to nominate. At our November 12th, 2025 Annual General Meeting, PNLT members will vote to add board members.
Who can be nominated?
Anyone above 16 years of age, and who is a member of the PNLT. To become a member, sign up here
IMPORTANT NOTE: All nominees must also be a PNLT member. Please sign up to be a member at the above link by October 10th for your nomination to be considered and confirmed.
The Board is seeking:
Representation from persons living or working on land or buildings owned by the Land Trust.
Diverse representation from community members (i.e. anyone living or working in Parkdale)
Representation from organizations (i.e. local organization serving equity seeking community members)
Board priorities
We safeguard the organization’s vision and values: fostering and enabling equitable use of land in Parkdale for access to affordable and adequate housing, inclusive economic opportunities, healthy food, community programs, social services and green spaces in Parkdale.
We steward 86 properties through democratic local planning and community control. Interest or experience in any area of nonprofit management is helpful but not required.
Board members work with committees that support PNLT’s mission. Interest or skills in leading or supporting team work is essential.
Nominations Process
Step 1
Open Nominations (July 3, 2025 to October 10, 2025)
Interview with Nominations Committee (before October 20, 2025)
Eligible nominees must apply for PNLT membership by October 12, 2025 if not already a member (sign up here)
Step 2
Eligible nominees are formally nominated to the PNLT Board (October 22, 2025)
Eligible nominees create a short 1-2 min video introducing themselves (by October 31, 2025)
Step 3
Eligible nominees stand for election at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) on November 12, 2025
PNLT Members caste their vote based on the video introductions through early online voting (November 5 to November 11, 2025) or at the AGM
Ballots are counted and results announced at the AGM.
More about the PNLT Board
The PNLT Board is a collective body who governs and supports the objectives and activities of the organization. The Board consists of 15 members who serve a two-term, with equal representation from:
- Core Members (live or work on land or buildings owned by the Land Trust).
- Community Members (live or work in Parkdale)
- Organizational Members (any not for profit association or grassroots groups that operates within our organizational boundaries – Parkside on the west, Dovercourt on the east, Bloor on the north, and the lakeshore on the south.)
